Creating this page has been a hard decision, but after numerous suggestions from readers that I should, I’ve come up with an idea I’m comfortable with.

Setting off to sail around Britain without any substantial funds to back it up was my decision. It would be nice to have a comfortable amount of money in the bank to deal with the unexpected, but the reality is, not having said funds is only adding to the adventure, if also slowing it down, but hey, who’s in a rush anyway?

I am quite unwilling to beg for help, I would hate myself for living off donations and such, and so I’m not going to ask that. What I would be remarkebly grateful for though, is some help with keeping this website up and running, as well as the video series on the go. This month alone I have spent £55 on internet access, and my poor budget camcorder is on it’s last legs and threatening to end the videos.

I’m adding this page with the request to help with those things, and those things alone. If I can relieve the burden of the internet bill, and just maybe, raise enough funds to buy a new camera and editing software for the Kudu adventures, I would be eternally grateful.

I’m adding this page with a promise. None of any money donated will go towards my food bill, marina fee’s, entertainment, boat repairs, etc. Those things are my responsibility. This page is purely to help fund the documentation of the adventures of Kudu. If any excess funds are raised, I will donate them to the charity I am supporting at the end of the trip, the Ellen MacArthur trust.

Also, if you donate, I’m more than happy to add your name and/or business website address to this page, if you would like me to.

Thank you,

Nathan & Kudu

[…] I really don’t want to beg for money to keep me afloat, and quite frankly, why should I deserve it? This journey was my choice, and any problems I face along the way are all part of the adventure. However, the burden of this website and the failing video kit is a one I can’t sustain for much longer given my current income, and so I’ve given in to people’s suggestions for that aspect of it, and that alone. More details about this decision are here. […]

Hey Nathan, sounds as though you are in tough times as far as the dreaded £££’s are concerned. Apart from the age difference (I am 55) you and I have a lot in common.

I am a professional musician (Hammond B3 Organ Jazz – Rock – Funk) and also earn extra dosh by web based multi media production and design although not to the technical degree of your work.

I also have had a a passion for sailing and always dreamed of doing the type of adventure you are currently involved in but extensive work overseas and family commitments sort of delayed things a little. (RESPECT MAN) Thank God there a are few adventurers like you still around.

I still have this MAD idea of sailing my little Falmouth Bass Boat camp-sailing the whole of the BROADS, and then sailing up the East Coast to Whitby in short hops create a multi media diary of the events. (Told you was a mad idea) Like you I fell in love with the Broads years ago. Just had a few days there stunning but different from sea sailing.

I’ll send you a link to a little movie I produced which I hope captures a little of the beauty of the Broads.

All I can offer you at the moment is support and the price of a few pints. I’ll stay in tomorrow night and donate the money due to be spent on ‘Dirty Beer and Wine” and when you make it to the York’s Coast I’ll try and hook and treat ya to a few pints and fish’n’chips (-:

Send me your email so I can send it via PayPal
    Cheers
    Malc
